Petar Vukasin, M.D., has 20 years of specialization in the medical practice and research of colorectal surgery. Leading to Board Certification in Colorectal Surgery, Dr. Vukasin graduated from the University of Southern California(USC) School of Medicine in 1980, then completed his internship and residency in general surgery, as well as fellowship training in colorectal surgery at the Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center.
In 1996, Dr. Vukasin joined the USC faculty where he was Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery in the Department of Colorectal Surgery until June 2011. During his time with USC, he served as Chief of The Division of Colorectal Surgery and Director of The Colorectal Residency Training Program, while concentrating on heading up the department’s highly successful off campus practice at Glendale Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Vukasin has based his clinical practice at Glendale Memorial Hospital since 1996 where he has served in numerous capacities including as Chief of Surgery, Member of the Community Board, and Chief of the Medical Staff for 2009 and 2010. In 2009, Dr. Vukasin’s vision to develop the Colorectal Surgery Institute at Glendale Memorial Hospital was fulfilled. Together with Dr. Garza and Dr. Beart, Dr. Vukasin currently sees all of his patients and continues research activities with a special interest in HIV-associated anorectal disorders here at the Colorectal Surgery Institute.
With his experience in research, training and medical practice, Dr. Vukasin brings his patients highly specialized care for colorectal diseases.
